Built by a photographer, for photographers.
Skerp is an independent proofing platform. One strong opinion about how client approvals should feel, a dark-room aesthetic, and a stubborn commitment to keeping your work yours.
Why Skerp exists
Photographers were stuck choosing between proofing tools designed for a different decade and sprawling all-in-one suites that bolt proofing onto a website builder, a print store, and a CRM. Either way the moment that matters — a client deciding which photographs make the cut — felt cluttered. Accounts to create. Upgrade nudges where the approval should be. Exports that Lightroom only half understood.
Skerp is the tool that should have existed already: purpose-built for photo proofing, quiet enough to recede behind the images, sharp enough that a client can pick favourites on a phone while their colleague annotates the same gallery from a laptop, and wired directly into Lightroom Classic when you want it to be.
The name means "sharp" in Dutch — a closing statement, a precision tool, a reminder of what the product should feel like. Nothing in Skerp is decorative. Every interaction earns its place by helping a client decide — view, pin, compare, rate, approve — or by helping a photographer act on that decision.
How we think about this.
Six principles that show up in every decision.
The image is the only hero
The platform recedes. Chrome is quiet, backgrounds are dark, typography is tight. Photographs should look like photographs, not like thumbnails in a UI.
Friction kills approvals
Clients abandon workflows that require accounts, passwords, or downloads. The fastest gallery to approve is the one that opens on a link and gets out of the way.
Your work is yours
We never train AI on your images, never share them with advertising networks, never repurpose them for marketing. Your content is processed only to operate the Service on your behalf.
Independent, not venture-backed
Skerp is an independent product, trading as Bruring Ops B.V. We grow as paying customers grow. There is no pivot to something else waiting in the wings.
EU-first by default
All persistent data lives in the European Union. Cloudflare R2 storage, German application servers, GDPR-native from line one. Not a checkbox; the foundation.
Built openly
Public changelog, public status page, public roadmap. If something breaks we say so. If something ships we say so. Surprise is not a feature.
